Vlad Marinescu, fost director general al SportAccord, s-a alăturat RSportz ca președinte

Vlad Marinescu, former director general of SportAccord, has joined RSportz as its President, it was announced today.

Marinescu left SportAccord, the umbrella organisation for Olympic and non-Olympic sports, in July as part of the restructuring the body after Marius Vizer stepped down following his controversial speech earlier in the year when he had criticised the International Olympic Committee and its President Thomas Bach.

Marinescu left Lausanne and moved home to California shortly afterwards but has now joined the New Jersey-based RSportz, a company that offers cloud-based services allowing sports organisations to better manage, integrate and engage their member base and maximise their revenues.

“It is my true belief that growth in sport can only come from the combination and synchronization of physical and digital elements related to sport," said Marinescu.

"I am pleased to join RSportz, a company run by passionate sports people who are experts in state-of-the-art technology and adding value for all people and organsations in the sporting environment.”

Prior to joining SportAccord, Marinescu had worked closely with Vizer at the International Judo Federation, helping develop its television strategy, which included broadcasting its 19 events to more than 150 countries.

“We are delighted Vlad has agreed to join our family of passionate sports technologists," said Robin Kent, chief executive of RSportz.

"He brings great global sports management experience and the drive to help us achieve our goals and ambitions of uniting the world through sport."
