PREMIERES AND INNOVATIONS
As the only international motor show held annually during the spring in Europe and on a "neutral territory", the
Geneva Show is known as one of the most representative of the industry.
The top manufacturers always unveil major innovations at the Show, in the presence of their CEOs. This year
about 140 World and European premieres have been announced in the sectors of “passenger cars”, “special
bodywork” and “converted cars”. 40 world and European premieres have been registered by the accessories,
OEM and workshop installations section.

For the first time in the almost 50-year history of Car of the Year, the most important award in its field will be
announced in 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show on 5th of March.
Currently, 59 journalists from 23 countries are members of the jury. Car of the Year has been awarded since
1964 and was called into being by seven European magazines from seven countries: Germany (Stern), Italy
(Auto), France (L'Automobile), Spain (Autopista), Great Britain (Autocar), The Netherlands (Autovisie) and
Sweden (Vi Bilägare).

CREATIVITY AWARD
For 2012 the Advertising and Communication Club of Geneva will present the 8th Creativity Award to the
exhibition stand which facilitates the greatest circulation through the stand, has the best access to the models
presented, and the most effective presentation of new models. The attractiveness and welcoming nature of the
stand will also be judged. The jury will evaluate the stands during the press days as well as on one of the public
days. The award will be presented on March 15 at 6:00 PM in the Everest Restaurant in Hall 5.
GREEN PAVILION – Exhibition for the technologies of tomorrow
For the 82nd edition of the Geneva International Motor Show the Green Pavilion and the Green Tests will move
to the Parc Sarasin, the entry of which is just facing the main entrance of Palexpo. Access to the Green Pavilion
is included in the main ticket for the Motor Show, and it will open its doors one hour ahead of the opening of the
rest of the Show, at 09:00 AM on weekdays and at 08:00 AM on the weekends.
At least twenty exhibitors will present a 360 degree vision of their latest achievements in ecological
developments and transportation options for the future. Visitors to the Pavilion will see what the major
constructors are presenting for their “green” models, both current and future, as well as the specialist
constructors of vehicles using alternative propulsion options plus the enterprises specializing in infrastructural
and other diverse ecological projects.
GREEN TEST DRIVES – Drive into the future
The “Green Test Drives” promise to be colorful, multi-faceted, innovative, and even electrifying! A circuit around
the park and on the open road will allow visitors to test a large assortment of 100% electric vehicles. There will
be 16 different models available from 12 constructors for the test drives.
Reservations for these test drives can be made at the stands of the participating constructors in the “Green
Pavilion” or directly at the places where the vehicles await you.
